Welcome to the yard. You've got 20 minutes a day here. Let's make it count.

So - with apologies to you-know-who -

- please allow me to introduce myself...

I'm David Nickle, and I write the kinds of stories that would have gotten me into trouble when I was a kid: horror stories. Big, wet, nasty old horror stories. I've had some of them published  in places like The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror, the Northern Frights series, the Queer Fear series, Cemetery Dance, On Spec, and a whole bunch others. I've got one novel out (The Claus Effect, with Karl Schroeder), and a collection (Monstrous Affections, all my own, forthcoming this fall from ChiZine Publications (which you can pre-order by clicking here)).

In 1997, I won a Bram Stoker award for short fiction, with my pal Edo Van Belkom. That story, "Rat Food," isn't on this site now. "The Sloan Men", which won no prizes but got a fancy Year's Best reprint and was adapted for television and audio, is. For people who like lists, there's also a CV. And links for people who like to link.

There'll be more stuff on the site as time goes on. In the meantime - the clock is ticking...
